What do I do if customers have money on account with us?

These are customers that we technically owe money to, but we're really just holding onto it until they are ready to buy more product. These customers don't have an order at the time, it's just being held.

If your just starting with Proceed Software and you have Customers that have monies "On Account", the best thing to do is create a "Credit Memo" with the "Retained Credit" type. This puts a liability or credit on the Customer's account and it will show up on the "Open Receivables Report. When the Customer purchases again, you can use the credit to help them pay off an invoice. On the Balance Sheet, this will show up as a liability to the company.
